Hello. My name is Chris Unterbrink and I am a counselor. I received my B.A. from Texas Tech in 1988 and my M.A. from U.T. El Paso in 1993. Since that time, I have held various jobs, usually working as an Associate Psychologist for different agencies in Texas and New Mexico. I enjoyed every job I had (some more than others), but in 2009, I was ready for a change.
I always wanted to go back to school and obtain my LPC license. After making some financial arrangements, I enrolled at UTPB to complete the requirements. That was at the ripe old age of 45 years, and needless to say, I was the oldest student in the class. In 2014, I finished all my requirements and passed my national LPC exam, scoring within the top 10%. I then got my first job as a counselor at Ector County ISD, where I helped develop a new program to keep kids in school. It's a great job. In 2015, my colleague asked me if I wanted to join him in his private practice as a counselor. I agreed. People say I am an easy person to talk to and trust when they need help. I am non-judgmental and always try to find the best in a bad situation. I hope you contact me if you are in need. Check out the other pages for more information and some "fun facts" about me. |
