About Me
I was born and raised in Springfield Illinois. My family moved to Midland in 1983, and at the time, I had never heard of Midland. After seeing the "beauty" here, I figured I wouldn't stay very long. Midland does grow on you, I guess.
I graduated from Texas Tech University in 1988 with a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology. I then attended The Universtiy of Texas at El Paso and obtained my Masters of Arts in Clinical Psychology in 1993. I returned to school at the University of Texas Permian Basin in 2012 to complete the requirements to obtain my LPC license.
I have worked with a variety of people throughout my career. I ran a kids and teen program for the Carlsbad Mental Health Center in Carlsbad New Mexico. I also worked for West Texas Centers for MHMR, The Austin State Supported Living Center, two local nursing homes (Manor Park and Parks Methodist Retirement Village) and Midland ISD. As a Social Worker at Manor Park, I helped open the Younger Center, the first facility in West Texas to specifically serve individuals with Alzheimer's and related dementia. I am currently employed full time as a Behavior Specialist for Ector County ISD, where I provides behavior support to multible campuses in the district.
My passions in life include music, the outdoors, specifically fishing and travel. I enjoy going to concerts and am a frequent guest at the Wagner Noel. I was lucky enough to see Stevie Ray Vaughn in concert before his early death. I also saw one of the last Eagles concerts featuring Glenn Frey.
I am a huge Dallas Cowboy fan, along with Texas Tech and The University of Nebraska. In baseball, I am a lifetime Chicago Cub fan as well as the Texas Rangers and the Midland Rockhounds.
I enjoy all kinds of fishing, I frequently travel to many of our local lakes, including O.H. Ivie and Lake Amistad. A weekend of fishing is a great way to get away and relax.
